What is Catabolic Storage Mode?

When your body no longer responds to training and nutrition as it once did, it hasn’t necessarily lost its capacity — its metabolic and anabolic responsiveness may have become biologically downregulated.

The Biological Reality

Over time, chronic stress, metabolic dysfunction and age-related hormonal changes can contribute to Hormonally Decelerated Storage Mode. In this state, the body may increasingly prioritize energy conservation and storage:

  • Reduced anabolic responsiveness: The muscle-building response to nutrition and resistance training becomes less efficient.

  • Reduced metabolic flexibility: The body's ability to switch efficiently between available energy sources can decline.

  • Greater tendency toward energy storage: Changes in metabolic and hormonal regulation can make maintaining a lean, athletic body composition more difficult.

The Common Mistake: Forcing and Restricting

Focusing on calorie restrictions and increasing training volume may be counterproductive when lifestyle-driven reduction in biological responsiveness has locked the body in catabolic storage mode. Forcing a body that is already under biological stress and has reduced sensitivity to its own hormones, can reinforce the adaptations you are trying to overcome.

The Solution: Systemic Response Reactivation

Your body has not lost its capacity for athletic body composition. The biological capacity for metabolic flexibility and anabolic responsiveness remains — but the factors that releases responsiveness can change significantly throughout the lifespan.

Through EvoReset™, nutrition, training and recovery are strategically adapted to individual age- and phenotype-related differences in biological responsiveness and needs.

The aim is to:

  • Reactivate Evolutionary Athletic Response Mode

  • Restore metabolic flexibility and anabolic responsiveness

  • Optimize muscle protein synthesis, appetite regulation and metabolic health

  • Do so without medication, extreme calorie restriction or exhausting training volumes.
